Strong wind gusts recorded yesterday in Zaragoza caused, among other incidents, a large branch fell on the catenary height of the streetcar to San Francisco Square. The incident occurred around 19.00 pm yesterday. The tram was stopped and was evicted, as the rules, and the fire presented themselves to remove the fallen branch and to restore service, an operation that lasted about 20 minutes.
Meanwhile, sources said society Zaragoza trams, trains continued to circulate from the Wizard of Oz in Valdesapartera to Romareda normally. The passengers were informed by both the public address screens as the cause of this cut on the line. Once satisfied that the catenary was not damaged, the service was restored to normal.
The wind gusts were very strong, but later caused a move to the fire service. More than a dozen trips to points throughout the city, caused mainly by falling trees and branches, causing some damage to parked vehicles and caused the diversion for half an hour, a bus line in Delicias. The incidence took place at Calle Fray Luis Urbano Monasterio de la Oliva.
"The wind was not blowing a force exaggerated, but it was from the southwest and trees, which are inclined by the north wind in the opposite direction, are breaking down," they said.
