A design team of the Department of Mechanical & Industrial Engineering at the University of Qatar has submitted the project for a " artificial cloud "that could be used to temper the searing heat desert during the World Cup 2022.
According to the design presented, the cloud would be made of lightweight materials and its structure would be "inflated" with helium and powered by four engines would run on solar energy. Furthermore, the group would be controlled from the ground by remote control.
The main function of this "cloud" would be placed several feet floating above the stage, in order to filter the direct and indirect rays of the sun and thus control the temperature.

The professor who heads the project, Saud Abdul Ghani, said that building the system would cost about 350,000 euros, and after the World Cup could be used in other events or just on the beach.
